The Lone Star Winter Wahoo Classic is a three-month, boat-based wahoo fishing tournament hosted by the Corpus Christi Big Game Fishing Club. The tournament runs from January 1 through March 31,  with registered boats competing throughout the winter season.

The tournament features a $2,000 Main Tournament Entry that funds the primary tournament purse, along with three optional winner-take-all side pots.

Format: Boat-based tournament
Main Entry: $2,000 per boat

The Main Tournament Entry is $2,000 per boat.

Money collected from Main Tournament Entry fees will be pooled to create the tournament's primary cash purse. Optional side-pot entries are separate and are not included when calculating the Main Tournament purse.

If 30 or fewer boats enter the tournament, the Main Tournament purse will pay:

1st Place — 75% of the Main Tournament purse
2nd Place — 25% of the Main Tournament purse

If more than 30 boats enter the tournament, the Main Tournament purse will expand to three places:

1st Place — 60% of the Main Tournament purse
2nd Place — 30% of the Main Tournament purse
3rd Place — 10% of the Main Tournament purse

100% of the Main Tournament purse is paid back to the winning boats.

Boats may also enter any or all of the following optional side pots. Each side pot has a $250 buy-in and is winner take all.

The boat with the winning January stringer receives 100% of the January Stringer side-pot purse.

The boat with the winning February stringer receives 100% of the February Stringer side-pot purse. February stringer is calucated with fish from both Jan and Feb so keep fishing hard for your chance to win.  

The boat weighing the heaviest eligible wahoo during the tournament receives 100% of the Heaviest Fish side-pot purse.

A boat entering the Main Tournament and all three optional side pots will pay:

Main Tournament Entry: $2,000
January Stringer (optional): $250
February Stringer (optional): $250
Heaviest Fish (optional): $250

Total All-In Entry: $2,750 per boat

Side pots are optional. A boat is not required to enter any side pot to participate in the Main Tournament.

Each side-pot purse consists only of the buy-ins received for that particular side pot. Side-pot money is separate from the Main Tournament purse.

All eligibility requirements, stringer definitions, weigh-in procedures, deadlines, tiebreakers, and other competition requirements will be governed by the official Lone Star Winter Wahoo Classic Tournament Rules.
